Well, I just got to your gallery today, and I don't know much about you, but this piece really struck me. We all have things that loom over us and scare us, that creep and come closer. But the scariest thing is when we know there is something but we can't put our finger on what it is , or that when we have no control over it. It's like a shadow, with no face, nothing that can make us comprehend it. So we hide away, scared, without knowing what we are hiding from. It makes us wonder if that thing is even real, if we can't see it. Why must we hide away from something that might not even exist? But we know it does, because we feel it so strongly. This is what this piece made me think of. The concept is extremely real and beautiful. I love the position of the body, closing in on itself, shielding the eyes. I like that you are positioned in the middle, and that the "other" you is blurry, adding to the feel of mystery, and strengthening the fact that the focus is on you- on your personal feelings. (Perhaps there is a meaning for the fact that it is you that is behind you, and not someone else?) The lighting is natural and beautiful, and makes you pop out, like you have a spotlight on you To me, the bricks in front of your feet symbolize the end of the tunnel- you can surely get up and leave if you wish to, but somehow it is your choice to stay hidden away and isolated. Or maybe that it's so close but so far away. Anyway, this is what this piece made me feel- quite a lot, actually! <3
Hello Adrian! After the conversation we had today, I felt that I needed to criticise one of your pictures, now that I know a little bit more about you. I think this picture is one of the most touching of all your gallery, because the concept is truly amazing. I think most of us can relate with the feeling of the world being a very cruel place, to the feeling that we sometimes lose hope in everybody and we just can't get through because the feeling of the world being a hostile place scares us too much. That is what this picture symbolizes to me and I think that you did a very great job representing with that accuracy that feeling. Going to a more technique aspect, I have few words to say because I really like the arrangement of the whole picture: I really how well focused is the main character by the natural and soft lighting, the picture in general is also well-shaped and the colours are comely and the blur in the background really gives a nice aspect, what's more, it also gives a misterious and scary touch to the shape of the man which in my opinion fits the concept perfectly. Some might say that having the main subject in the center of the picture is a mistake, but we must always remember that there’s no right or wrong in photography. Overall, I think this picture is definetly worth the sight, because it is not only beautiful, but also holds a message which is really important to know.
This photo voices simply and directly its themes. The darker background emphasizes the guy's loneliness and his position expresses very well his sorrow and, maybe, his need of protection from the cruelty of the world. Perhaps you can increase the contrast of the guy to add some more sadness. This is all i have to say. I love this photo; you're great!
i like this, kinda puts all the thoughts in my head into a picture. sometimes u just wanna curl up and block out all the hurt! who's the guy in the background?
This is amazing. I don't even know where to begin. Maybe its where it shows my emotion or where you just captured the moment. This is such a beautiful piece, thank you. (:
