Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

It's been a long time

Hey,

i just wanted to say hi again. because i haven't been much on here. The reason is that i kind of don't feel like browsing here anymore. i barely find pictures here which i like. and i also don't understand whats the sense behind taking pictures of candies, roses, coffee, shiny eyes. i don't know, i just changed i guess.

Furthermore.. the website is still not online :/ .. i kind of made a big mistake. (for those who understand technical issues: i thought the domain and the webspaces are hosted seperately) i have to quit one contract. i don't know how much time this will take. i was just too excited so i just did something -.-

and yeah i think i won't take photos in the next time. i have been doing quite a lot photography related the last few days or weeks. and i cannot do one thing all time. so i need a break. i started drawing.. in case of i want to study art, because it is like a thing everyone has to be able to do.

Adrian, you are a very talented photographer with a unique perspective and a remarkable gallery. It would be a great shame if you gave up on the photography altogether although I understand how easy it is to get bored with one aspect of your artistic outlet

I hope you are doing alright though. I know, sometimes one can get burnout. Like for me...I've not even touched my 3D DAZ rendering in quite a few months. just haven't "felt" it..yah know? I think we all go through "boredoms" of one sort or another and then eventually come back around again. Do what makes you happy. Thats what matters

Mm. Tienes mucha razón.
Últimamente yo también he estado mucho tiempo en otros sitios, especialmente flickr.
Nunca antes me había interesado mucho esa comunidad, pero hace unas semanas me puse a ver a los artistas de allí y hay muchos, muchísimos artistas maravillosos que para ser honestos, yo tampoco encuentro aquí en deviantART.
Por otra parte, a mí si me gustan las fotos a los objetos que pueden no tener ningún significado pero que son bonitas, aunque prefiero las fotos con un buen concepto detrás

En cualquier caso, yo no tengo planteado dejar esta comunidad porque ha hecho mucho por mi, me ha ayudado bastante y me ha apoyado así que me daría mucha pena irme, pero eso no significa que no vaya a estar muy atenta a los artistas de flickr, que son espléndidos
